Who’s been munching on MY cables?

A note from fieldseasons past.

Bear Bite

Who's been munching on my cables?

The first day, we smelled the stench of a bear. The second day, he munched on my cables. The third day, as we worked our way down the line, he strolled up. When bear bangers proved fully ineffective, the helicopter chased him away. The fourth day, we left.

Returning later to collect our ground wire, we found a dead moose on our wire: antlers, bone, copper, and dirt tangled together.

…we clipped the wire and left.
