Flash flood

Flash floods are a common event during the wet season.

Picking the highest local ground for setting up a base station helps mitigate the risk of a flash flood. Rainfall at this location was so hard, we had to use an umbrella under the tarp to keep the equipment dry. Photo credit: Mika McKinnon
