Ice Crystals at Sunset

sunset

Ice crystals & sunset.

My flight was mostly over clouds, and mostly during a perpetual sunset, so I did very little airplane geomorphology. Instead, I spent hours mesmerized by the stretching and bending of light by the atmosphere (with a brilliantly red sunset) and through the ice on the airplane window.

One day, I’ll find a copy of Wood’s Science from Your Airplane Window (excerpts).
